In an effort to ensure the safety of all our guests and provide our guests with the best possible accommodations, Holland America has employed new guidelines for personal electric mobility scooters on board.

Effective for all bookings departing after July 1, 2004, all personal mobility scooters will be required to meet the following guidelines:

Width: No more than 23"

Weight: No more than 100 lbs. without battery

Batteries: Gel or Dry Cell only

Additionally, all personal mobility aids must be securely stored in guests' staterooms. Mobility equipment will not be permitted to be stored/recharged in hallways or elevator lobbies on board Holland America vessels. Holland America Line will not be responsible for the storage of personal mobility equipment.

Failure to safely and properly store personal mobility equipment in staterooms may result in the denial of boarding.

If your personal scooter does not meet the above requirements, you are welcome to rent equipment from a third party. One company that frequently provides scooter rentals to Holland America guests, and meets the above requirements is:
