ATLANTIS ADVENTURES is running daily whale-watching cruises from Aloha Tower marketplace in Honolulu through April 8. The cost for a ride on the twin-hulled Navatek I is $52.99 for adults and $33.99 for children. The rate includes a buffet lunch, beverages and transportation to and from the ship (from most Waikiki hotels) and a guaranteed whale sighting. The cruise departs at noon and returns at 2:30 p.m.

The program incorporates Hawaiian culture by selecting animals based on the 12 letters of the Hawaiian alphabet. Displays, feedings and lectures will focus on the monthly selection, which include shark, shrimp, eel and monk seal. THE DOLE PLANTATION on Oahu will unveil a new 20-minute train ride attraction in October called the Pineapple Express. The 2.2-mile ride will cost $7.50 for adults and $5.50 for children and includes a tour of the plantation grounds with information on the life of James Dole and the legacy of the pineapple and agriculture in Hawaii. This year's Vans Triple Crown of Surfing events on Oahu's is celebrating its 22nd season at the North Shore of Oahu's three premier surfing destinations: Haleiwa, Sunset Beach and Pipeline. From Nov. 12 to 23, the Vans Hawaiian Pro will take place at Haleiwa's Ali'I Beach Park. The O'Neill World Cup of Surfing will be held Nov. 25 to Dec. 7 on Sunset Beach; the Rip Curl Pro Pipeline Masters will be held from Dec. 8 to 20 at the Bonzai Pipeline. Surfing may or may not take place on every scheduled day, depending on wave conditions.
