Located in the southern Caribbean, the island sticks out quite a way into the Atlantic Ocean. In fact, the beaches on the eastern side are atlantic beaches. Claimed as an uninhabited island in 1625 by the English, it remained so until 1966 when it was granted independence.
The people are very friendly, with little or no poverty. Fine beaches, great water and some very good sightseeing make this a good destination for your vacation.
