AttractionsCarnival Iguazu Falls Glaciers National Park, Patagonia Buenos Aires Fitz Roy Trek Trelew Region To its dazzling tango, world-renowned beef and oh-so-European flair, Argentina can now add an altogether different touristic calling card: gay marriage. Between the end of August and the beginning of September, millions of penguins arrive to the coast of Península de Valdés, and Punta Tombo. What can be seen according to the time of year: August-September: this is the time that adult males and females arrive, territories are marked off and nests are built. October: brooding and hatching season, lasting between 30 and 45 days. November: more chicks are born and parents start caring for them. December: growth and intensive activity on the beach, while seagulls and skuas wait their chance to pillage the nests. January: young penguins leave their nests, grow, change feathers and start learning to swim in the sea. February: the young molt, occupy the beaches, they swim and make it difficult for visitors to walk to the shoreline. March-April: the molting season ends for the young and starts for the adults, and the birds start their northward migration. May, June, July and August: during these months no Magellan penguins are visible, because they are permanently feeding out at sea. The Patagonia Region, located in the southern end of South America embraces partially the territory of Argentina and Chile Vast swathes of one of Argentina's famous landscapes - which attracts tourists from all over the world - are being ruined by beavers.
