Qantas launched the Aussie Air Pass for U.S. customers. Likened by Australian tourism officials to a "Eurail Pass in the air," the Air Pass is good for three bonus domestic flights within Australia when customers fly from the U.S. Qantas Air Pass travel must be booked a minimum of 30 days before departure and purchased within 72 hours of confirmation. Travel must be taken over a period of seven to 21 days.

The free weight allowance for international checked baggage will be 50 pounds (23 kilograms) per piece. Currently, 70 pounds (32 kilograms) per piece is accepted. The policy change provides a consistent weight limit between domestic and international flights.

An SDR is an international currency equivalent set by the International Monetary Fund and is approximately $1.50 U.S. The SDR limit is expected to be reviewed every five years.
