Charter flights are scheduled on certain days each week and may not depart every day the way commercial airlines do. An example of a charter rotation would be Thursday/Sunday, in which the plane departs on Thursday and returns on Sunday. Some commercial airlines lease their aircraft or seats on a flight to the suppliers for charter service.

Some supplers will allow you to change your return date for extended stay for a fee based on available seating for the scheduled return. An example from above may allow you to return the following Thursday.
