Most cities have a park and ride system whereby you can drive to a car park
usually on the fringe of the city, park the car and then board a bus to the city. The bus fare covers the parking.

February 15, 2006
Effective immediately, minors (under 18 years) who require a visa for travel to the United Kingdom and whose visa was issued on or after February 12, 2006, must hold a "CHILD VISITOR" endorsement on the visa.
1. Minors traveling alone must have a valid visa endorsed: CHILD VISITOR - UNACCOMPANIED
2. Minors traveling accompanied must have a valid visa endorsed: CHILD VISITOR - ONLY VALID IF ACCOMPANIED BY nnnnnnnppppppp n=persons name p=passport number
When a minor requiring a visa is traveling accompanied, the minor must be accompanied by a person listed on the visa endorsement. Otherwise, the minor cannot be accepted for travel to the U.K. On WebTIMATIC see: Country Information for United Kingdom, Visa Section, Minors Subsection. This new requirement only applies to minors whose nationality requires a visa for travel to the U.K. (i.e., a minor being a U.S. citizen would not require a visa for the U.K.)
DO I NEED MEDICAL INSURANCE?
Yes! Holidaymakers who become ill while in Britain are only eligible for free emergency treatment in the Accident and Emergency departments of National Health Service hospitals. If you are admitted to hospital as an inpatient, even from an accident and emergency department, or referred to an outpatient clinic, you will be asked to pay unless you are a national of the European Economic Area. Details are available from VisitBritain.
You are strongly advised to take out adequate insurance cover before travelling to Britain.
