Useful Terms:

Third party fire & theft, covers the hirer against any claim made by a third party from an accident caused by the hirer. It also covers the hirer against the theft by a third party or accidental fire of the vehicle.

Collision Damage Waver, covers the driver against any damage to the hired vehicle over and above the first deductable (example £350.00). Additional cover can always betaken at the time of collection to cover the driver against this charge

Car Rental Companies are making their customers (You) liable for ‘acts of nature.' Per Rental companies "The customer, not the company, is in a position to do something about it, whether it is returning the car to us or getting the car out of harm's way,". "There are situations like an earthquake, for example," Rental companies state. "You can't predict an earthquake. In that case, you might have purchased a loss damage waiver that automatically shifts responsibility back to the car rental company.
Companies also state,
"Almost all of our customers have auto insurance, which covers the damage to car rental vehicles under these circumstances. So it is not like all of a sudden the customer is going to get hit with a bill that they weren't hit with before.
