One of the most beautiful of the Seychilles islands, Praslin has a coastline of granite bluffs, carved by wave erosion into fluted columns and fantastic forms like abstract sculpture. In the national park, visit a grove of huge, ancient Coco-de-Mer palms, found nowhere else on earth. A single frond can roof an entire house.
The second largest island in the archipelago lying 37kmsNorth-East of Mahé, Praslin can be reached by air in 15 minutes or by ferry in 1 hour. The island is approximately 10.5kms by 3.7kms. Situated in the middle is a tiny but magnificent forest, the Vallee de Mai, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1984 by UNESCO
