Amman GovernorateAmman (City)Aqaba (Arabic: al-Aqabah) Aqaba(City) Capital of Aqaba
The city curves around a bay with looming mountains hard behind. Travel up steep-walled canyons into the dramatic valleys where Lawrence of Arabia's armies harassed the occupying Turks. Continue past Wadi Rhum, still home to nomad Bedouin, until you reach the awe-inspiring, rock-cut city of Petra, one of the "lost" cities rediscovered in the 19th century. None is more dramatic nor more mysterious than Petra, the "rose-red city half as old as time." The only entrance to Petra, the Siq, is a twisting mile of narrow passage between soaring walls of sandstone, which made the entrance to Petra both difficult to find and easy to defend. Travel along a marble-paved Roman road, surrounded by huge and elaborate structures carved into the brilliantly-colored rocks of the cliffs. Visit the so-called Royal Tombs, and the Roman Thearer. Then, stunned to silence by the majesty of Petra, return up the Siq and to Aqaba.

These men have appeared at Jerusalem as vessels full of the iniquity of superstitious error, and were driven thence for their crimes. Having fled to Constantinople, they forsook not their impiety. Wherefore they have been banished from thence and thus stigmatized on their faces.
